Diese Sp\u00e4ne haften aufgrund von St\u00f6rspannungen und R\u00fcckstr\u00f6men, die die Schienen magnetisieren. Der permanente Fangmagnet wird an der dem Zugradscheibenflansch zugewandten Seite der Schienen montiert, direkt vor und nach der Schwei\u00dfplatte der ES-Schwei\u00dfverbindung. Der Magnet ist so konstruiert, dass nur die dem Schienenkopf abgewandte Vorderseite magnetisch ist, mit einer Fangtiefe von 3 Zentimetern.
